My name is Kayla Marie Yetter. I am a wife and mother to two beautiful girls. My family is my whole world, and most certainly my "Why". I have always been an active person. I played sports growing up, with a focus on softball through senior year of high school. In college, I didn't get involved in sports and I mostly stuck to the elliptical when I "hit the gym".
Following college, my then boyfriend/now husband, and I started getting into lifting at the gym in our apartment complex. But again, I stuck to mostly machine-based exercises. ab workouts and cardio machines. It wasn't until after I had our first daughter in 2012 that I began to really focus on my health and fitness. I found BodyBuilding.com, came across one of the more popular "Fitspos" as well as a 12 week Transformation Challenge that had just been posted. I had never lifted before and decided that I was just going to dive right in and I haven't ever looked back. I completed that challenge, and although I didn't win the award, I felt that I had won! I found a new passion and a drive to continue bettering myself through my new health and fitness journey.
I went on to have our second daughter, after which I encountered some health issues that have played a significant role in my fitness journey. Both of my children were born via C-section, which in and of itself is a major abdominal surgery with recovery time. After the birth of our youngest, I believed myself to have developed Diastasis Recti.
My Diastasis Recti was improperly diagnosed and, thus, improperly treated with a surgery that did not go as planned, and subsequently required a corrective surgery. Following both of those procedures, it was recommended that I not attempt any further pregnancies due to severe risk of bleeding, blood loss and/or death. In addition, I was told by several surgeons that I would not be able to heal the Diastasis Recti without further invasive surgical intervention., which was not covered under health insurance. Over the course of the last four years, I have made it my mission to overcome the odds, defeat the negativity and get my body back to a place where I was healthy, happy and confident while building a lifestyle that was maintainable and not restrictive. In the process, I have developed a much better relationship with food, a better image of my body in ALL of its stages, and an outlet for all the stress, frustrations and emotions that come from day-to-day life. Let me help you to do the same!
I have been consistently lifting weights for the past ten years, with a primary focus of bettering my overall health. I have had an intense interest in the industry for years and when the 2020 COVID-19 Pandemic forced the majority of us to stay at home, I decided to take advantage of my extra time and pursue my passion! I completed the Certified Personal Training Course through NASM and obtained my certification, as well as a certification on CPR/AED. In addition, I obtained my certification through NASM as a certified Nutrition Coach.
In June 2020, I hired my own coach for accountability purposes in pursuing a better program to fit my current lifestyle. You see, even personal trainers can use some outside accountability!!! Without any previous plans to, my "lifestyle coaching" quickly turned into a path of pursuing the world of competing. I have now competed in two regional NPC shows, the first of which was on 11/14/20 and brought home 1st Overall Bikini Class B and 5th in Novice! Affer my second show, I decided to hang up the heels and focus on my own clients and helping as many people as possible achieve what I know they are capable of!
